Meet Rosemary
Rosemary’s working life began in the world of banking. Volunteering with the Scottish Pre-School Play Association (SPPA) provided her first experience of working within the voluntary sector. Involvement at both local and district levels meant serving on a range of committees and then becoming the Training Fieldworker, co-ordinating training programmes for both staff and volunteers. At regional level, progression led to being chairperson and then onto the organisation’s National Policy Board. Rosemary also joined the college’s finance team. However, the desire to become more directly involved within the community led to a move into the college’s Employment and Enterprise Sector, becoming part of the team delivering a millennium programme to support individuals who were facing multiple barriers in returning to education, training and/or employment. After several years Rosemary was appointed as Assistant Head of School for Access and Communities (Carnegie College). After almost 20 years’ service, Rosemary moved on to take up the position of Independent Services Team Leader within Fife Women’s Aid, working there for over 3 years, until retirement. Rosemary joined KASP as a Trustee in 2018 and regards it as a privilege to be part of the organisation, assisting in its governance and in turn supporting delivery of its very important services.
