Joy – A Message of Thanks

Around the beginning of 2026, I decided that my time with KASP was coming to an end and that retirement was beckoning. This was one of the most difficult decisions I have made in my working life because I truly love my role at KASP. I have been fortunate to work alongside the most wonderful, caring, and supportive team, and the thought of handing over the service to another manager was incredibly difficult.

After much reflection, I confirmed that 30 October 2026 would be my final working day at KASP. While I know it is the right time to begin a new chapter in my life, it does not make saying goodbye any easier.

I recognise that this transition will bring changes, both for me personally and for KASP as an organisation. A new manager will bring their own vision, experience, and approach to the role, helping to shape the future direction of the service. Change can often feel unsettling, but it also creates opportunities for growth, innovation, and fresh perspectives.

As I reflect on my time at KASP, I do so with immense pride and gratitude. I am proud of what we have achieved together, the challenges we have overcome, and the positive difference we have made in the lives of the people we support throughout Fife. Most importantly, I am grateful for the dedication, compassion, and commitment shown every day by our staff team, volunteers, and trustees, past and present.

I am equally grateful to every person who has accessed KASP’s services, whose courage, resilience, and determination in facing life’s challenges continue to inspire us all.

While I will miss being part of KASP on a daily basis, I leave knowing that the organisation is built on strong foundations and is well placed to continue developing and thriving in the years ahead. I have every confidence that KASP will continue to grow and evolve under new leadership while remaining true to its values, mission, and commitment to those it serves.

I would like to thank everyone who has been part of my journey. It has been both a privilege and an honour to serve KASP, and I will always look back on my time here with great fondness, pride, and appreciation. Together, we have achieved so much, and I know that there are many more successes ahead for the organisation.

Although I am retiring from my role, I will remain one of KASP’s greatest supporters. I look forward to watching the organisation’s continued success and celebrating its achievements in the years to come.

Finally, congratulations to Julie Ramage, who will take over the reins on 2 November 2026. You have inherited a fantastic team of passionate and hardworking counsellors, support workers, and administrative staff who go above and beyond to ensure that survivors are supported, listened to, and heard at KASP.

I wish you, the team, and the organisation every success for the future.
