Meet Kristen
Hello, I’m Kristen and I am honoured to join KASP as a trainee counsellor. I started my counselling journey by completing my BSc (hons) psychology and counselling degree at Abertay University, where I developed a strong foundation in psychological theory and therapeutic practice. Durning my studies, I found myself particularly drawn towards the person-centered approach and I am now continuing my training as a person-centered counselling student at the University of Aberdeen. I am passionate about creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel seen, heard, accepted and valued. You will lead the direction of our sessions and I will walk alongside you with empathy, honesty and unconditional positive regard. Rather than offering advice, I aim to support you in deepening your understanding of yourself, your experiences and trusting in your own inner resources. Alongside my counselling training, I work as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner. In this role, I support individuals experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, which has strengthened my appreciation of how important compassionate, relational support can be. I was drawn to KASP because of what they stand for and their strong ethos of safety, empowerment and respect. It feels extremely meaningful to be apart of a service that is committed to supporting survivors and offering a space where people are truly heard and valued. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, going to concerts and spending time with my family and friends.
