Mental Health Awareness Week, 12th – 18th May 2025
This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from the 12th to 18th May with ‘Community’ being the overriding theme.
Being part of a safe, positive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing. People thrive when they have strong connections with other people and supportive communities and having this at KASP helps to provide a sense of belonging, safety, and support for our clients.
Because of misconceptions and stigma surrounding mental health issues, people often suffer in silence and do not seek treatment for their conditions. Mental health awareness is an important initiative to improve understanding of mental health conditions and increase access to healthcare for those who need it.
At KASP we are always looking at ways to improve the service and support clients. Raising awareness of childhood sexual abuse helps people and services to recognise the way sexual abuse can affect people’s lives and talking openly about trauma can help reduce the misconceptions and stigma that sometimes arise around mental health. Being part of a community helps to encourage those who are suffering to seek help and support.
