Would your service or oganisation benefit from Training around childhood sexual abuse?

KASP offers training to different organisations and professionals working across Fife. In April KASP provided ‘See Me, Not My Mask’ training to Better Than Well, which is an organisation supporting people to develop tools and techniques to manage their mental health in a more positive way. All of their staff work closely alongside people and have experience dealing with the disclosure of childhood sexual abuse and witness the debilitating effects trauma and abuse can have.

The ‘See Me, Not My Mask’ training is delivered over a full day and provides a greater understanding regarding the complexities of childhood sexual abuse.

We try to make the training as interactive as possible by involving arts and crafts, practical exercises, video clips and fun activities alongside the raw and challenging parts of abuse. Many people shy away from talking about abuse and we find making the training as interactive as possible helps people to have a voice, build confidence and get involved.

Throughout the training we encourage discussion in a safe setting and will talk about the myths, facts and stigma attached to childhood sexual abuse. Hearing real life stories through a video helps put things into perspective and can expand understanding, knowledge and highlight what survivors of childhood sexual abuse are often looking for in relation to support.

The two workers who delivered this training, Nicola and Isla, are extremely passionate about the training they deliver and highlight that survivors of abuse are the real experts in this field. However, building awareness and knowledge throughout the training hopes to leave participants with a greater understanding of the complexities of trauma and in particular how those affected may react or respond.

If your organisation is looking for training, then please feel free to get in touch.
